Based on experience with my mother's assisted-living facility, they would not accept a resident who cannot get out of a chair. When I cared for my mother I had to remind myself of the early years of my life when I required constant care and supervision and felt I was returning the favor. It's not easy but I'm glad I hung in there. My siblings were more than happy to let me figure it all out, which I did with the support of my spouse and personal aides who she was fortunate enough to be able to afford.
