If you plant a big vegetable garden like I did, you may find yourself overwhelmed with useful tasks in September (like I am). That includes making 12 quarts of sauerkraut, 12 quarts of tomato sauce (and counting), green tomato chutney, apple butter, etc. Then you'll have stuff to share with the neighbors.
