Incredible hike, even if you didn't go to the summit. I had a similar experience in Zion Natl. Park where after a not-too-intense climb, people formed a conga line to go to Angel's Landing for their selfie photo. Not my idea of a fun hike, regardless of the view, so we didn't go.
