Too many great stories about life as we age?

That’s the dilemma I’m facing as I put together this newsletter. In one week we’ve received sixty stories that explore the highs and lows of later life … how will they all fit?

Well, this week is an experiment. I’ve chosen several stories that focus on the theme of ageism, the writing prompt we launched last week. Three of them were written by first-time contributors to Crow’s Feet, H.J. Blakely, Kim Kelly and Sue Nanfeldt. Others are by writers who have been exploring aging and ageism for awhile now.

And, to wrap up our exploration of nostalgia, I’ll round out the newsletter with three stories about what evokes strong memories about our past.

Be sure to visit Crow’s Feet to read more of these great stories, including medical advice if you are coping with sleep apnea, high blood pressure or gluten sensitivity.

Finally, stay tuned next Wednesday, July 13, at 12:01 am, when we drop a new episode of the Crow’s Feet podcast. You’ll be amazed by the stories of a woman who has been a circus performer, a mayor, and now, a talented writer of fiction and personal essays. Don’t miss this interview of Crow’s Feet writer Jan M. Flynn conducted by fellow writer Warren Turner.
