Wow, that's complicated. Since I know you, I know you are very pretty (not preeetty) and you may have been glowing from your shopping experience and this woman looked at you and thought, now there's a woman I'd like to look like when I'm in my 60s. I've heard the way folks compliment seniors in an institutional setting and that can be phony. I also can't stand someone calling me 'honey,' it's so demeaning. In your case, I'm going to bet it was a sincere compliment.
